CEO Facebook Mark Zuckberberg naik sebesar 3,8 miliar dollar AS dalam sehari setelah saham Facebook berada di level 34,46 dollar AS pada 25 Juli lalu. Menurut Bloomberg Billionaires Index, kekayaan Zuckerberg kini melampaui kekayaan CEO Microsoft Steve Ballmer dan Michael Dell yang tak lain adalah chairman perusahaan komputer Dell.
Zuckerberg menjadi orang terkaya peringkat 42 menurut Bloomberg Billionaires Index, dengan kekayaan 16,7 miliar dollar AS. Kekayaannya naik 37 persen dari tahun ke tahun.
Sementara itu, Steve Ballmer berada di peringkat 51 dengan kekayaan 15,8 miliar dollar AS. Michael Dell berada di peringkat 58 dengan kekayaan 14,8 miliar dollar AS.
Pendiri Microsoft, Bill Gates, masih menjadi orang terkaya di dunia dengan harta 72,2 miliar dollar AS, menurut Bloomberg Billionaires Index. Bos teknologi lain yang masuk daftar itu adalah Larry Ellison (CEO Oracle), Jeff Bezos (CEO Amazon.com), serta dua pendiri Google, Larry Page dan Sergey Brin.
Saham Facebook naik berkat iklan mobile
Kenaikan harga saham Facebook pada 25 Juli lalu adalah yang tertinggi sejak Mei 2012, yakni sebesar 30 persen. Hal ini disebabkan meningkatkan pendapatan perusahaan dari iklan mobile pada kuartal dua tahun 2013.
Jejaring sosial internet terbesar ini membukukan pendapatan sebesar 1.813 miliar dollar AS, atau naik 53 persen dibandingkan periode yang sama tahun lalu. Kontribusi terbesarnya berasal dari iklan, yakni sebesar 88 persen.
Keuntungan Facebook dari iklan di kuartal ini mencapai 1,6 miliar dollar AS atau naik 61 persen dari periode yang sama tahun 2012.
Perusahaan menyatakan 41 persen dari jumlah tersebut atau 656 juta dollar AS dihasilkan berkat iklan di perangkat mobile. Ini berarti, pendapatan iklan mobile Facebook tumbuh 30 persen dari kuartal pertama tahun 2013.
Di tengah tumbuhnya pengguna ponsel dan tablet, Facebook dianggap berhasil mendulang keuntungan dan mengembangkan produk untuk perangkat mobile. Kabar ini sontak membuat harga saham Facebook naik di bursa saham Nasdaq, New York.
